Plot: Set during the Sierra Leone Civil War in the late 1990s, the film follows the intertwined journeys of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), a mercenary and diamond smuggler, and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou), a fisherman forced to work in the diamond mines. When Solomon discovers a rare pink diamond, he hides it, hoping it will reunite him with his family. Danny, realizing the diamond's value, forms an uneasy alliance with Solomon to find the precious gem.
